Record SK-01 · 318/2025 Z. z. (legislative process LP/2025/161)
Amendment of Act 56/2018 on product conformity assessment and eight other acts that adapts Slovak law to EU product legislation, including the AI Act. It adds Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 to the EU acts under which the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing acts as notifying authority, and requires authorised (notified) bodies to meet further duties under such acts, citing Articles 36 and 45 of the AI Act. The Office may fine an authorised body at the levels of Article 99(4) and (6) of the AI Act for breaching the obligations listed in Article 99(4)(f), and reports such fines to the Commission. It names no AI Act market surveillance authority, single point of contact or sandbox.
No English version of this instrument was found. The English title and the summary are the register's own, written from the sources below; for the exact wording use the Slovak text.
Borderline scope Omnibus amendment of the conformity-assessment act; included because it adds Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 to the notified-body regime and sets fines under Article 99 of the AI Act.
Approved by the National Council on 21 October 2025, promulgated in the Collection of Laws on 21 November 2025 and in force from 1 January 2026. Article I has 77 amending points; Articles II to IX amend the acts on administrative fees, maritime navigation, state control of the internal market in consumer protection, labour inspection, public health, hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, cybersecurity and the accessibility of products and services. Only its AI Act provisions are summarised here. The AI Act appears in the footnote to section 3(2) of Act 56/2018, which makes the Office the notifying authority under the act and under the EU acts listed there. The pending government bill SK-02 would name the Office as the AI Act's notifying authority and designate the other AI Act authorities.
