Record US-NV-01 · Assembly Bill 406 (83rd Session, 2025); reported as Statutes of Nevada 2025, Chapter 283
Prohibits providers of AI systems from offering a system specifically programmed to provide services that would constitute the practice of professional mental or behavioral health care, and from representing that an AI system can provide such care, subject to civil penalties of up to USD 15,000 per violation. Licensed providers may not use AI to deliver care directly to patients, may use it for administrative support, and must independently review AI-generated reports. Public schools may not use AI to perform the mental-health duties of school counsellors, psychologists or social workers, and the Department of Education must adopt an AI-use policy.
