Summary

Italian AI law applied in conformity with the EU AI Act, adding no obligations beyond it. AI must be used in an anthropocentric, transparent and responsible way that respects human decision-making, prevents harm and ensures human oversight, with cybersecurity across the life cycle. Sector rules cover health, work, public administration and the judiciary, where every decision stays with the magistrate. Under-14s need parental consent to access AI. AgID and the National Cybersecurity Agency are the national AI authorities. A new offence punishes harmfully spreading AI-falsified images, video or voices without consent, and the Government is delegated to adapt national law to the AI Act.
