Summary

Implementing decree under Act LXXV of 2025. It designates the National Accreditation Authority as AI notifying authority and the minister responsible for enterprise development as AI market surveillance authority and single point of contact under Article 70 of the AI Act. Only accredited bodies can be designated to assess the conformity of high-risk AI systems, and designated bodies report on their work by 31 January each year. Maximum fines are set in forints (HUF 13.3 billion, 5.7 billion and 2.85 billion under Article 99; HUF 570 million and 285 million under Article 100), payable within 30 days. The authorities report at least annually to the Government and the Hungarian AI Council.

Promulgated on 31 October 2025 and in force on the 31st day after promulgation (§ 6), 1 December 2025. Government Decree 224/2026 (X. 1.) repealed point e) of § 5(1), in the rules on the Hungarian Artificial Intelligence Council; the consolidated text dated 2 October 2026 still designates the minister responsible for enterprise development as market surveillance authority. The authorities' competence does not extend to providers and deployers for which another act or government decree so provides (§ 1(3)), and the market surveillance authority may settle a case by an administrative contract instead of a decision (§ 3(2)). §§ 8-10 and the annex have lapsed under § 12(2) of Act CXXX of 2010.

It confirms the full Hungarian title, the number and date, the § 1 designations, the § 2 rules on designated bodies, the § 4 fine amounts, the § 6 entry-into-force rule and the footnotes on the repeal of § 5(1)(e) by Decree 224/2026 (X. 1.) and on the lapse of §§ 8-10 and the annex. The PDF stored with it (document-1.pdf) is the site's accessibility statement, not a source for the decree. The amending Decree 224/2026 itself is not stored.
