Status notes

Welcomed by the G7 Leaders in their Statement on the Hiroshima AI Process of 30 Oct 2023, which calls on organisations developing advanced AI systems to commit to applying the Code and says it will be reviewed and updated as necessary. The Code is part of the Hiroshima AI Process Comprehensive Policy Framework (G7-03). Organisations report on how they apply it through the OECD's HAIP Reporting Framework (OECD-02), launched in February 2025; G7 digital ministers commended a revised Reporting Framework in May 2026 (G7-04). The Seoul Declaration of May 2024 (INT-04) says its signatories continue to focus on supporting the operationalisation of the Code.

Stored and read in this run: the English text on mofa.go.jp (official) and the same text on MIC Japan's HAIP site (soumu.go.jp), which confirm the title, the voluntary character, the review clause and the 11 actions but give no date; and the G7 Leaders' Statement on the Hiroshima AI Process (soumu.go.jp, dated 30 Oct 2023), which confirms the date, the Leaders' welcome of the Code and their call on organisations to commit to it. MIC Japan's HAIP documents page, stored for G7-03 on 11 Oct 2026, lists no revised edition of the Code. The sentences on OECD-02, G7-04 and INT-04 rest on those records' stored sources.
