Summary
Plan for applying the EU AI Act in Czechia, approved by the Government on 28 May 2025. The Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates implementation, prepares a national AI law and sets up an AI competence centre for eGovernment. The Czech Telecommunication Office is the market surveillance authority; the Office for Technical Standardisation, Metrology and State Testing (ÚNMZ) is the notifying authority, which designates and monitors the bodies that assess the conformity of high-risk AI systems; and the Czech Standardisation Agency builds and runs a regulatory sandbox in which companies and researchers test AI under regulators' supervision.

Recheck of 17 Oct 2026: re-read the press release of 28 May 2025 by the Office for Technical Standardisation, Metrology and State Testing (ÚNMZ) and the Czech Standardisation Agency (PDF on agenturacas.gov.cz, stored 11 Oct 2026) and the Czech Artificial Intelligence Association's note of 29 May 2025 (stored again 17 Oct 2026; the page around the note changed, the note did not). The agency release confirms the approval on 28 May 2025, the material's title and the roles of MPO, ČTÚ, ÚNMZ and ČAS; it is the release of another official body, not of the Government, hence level B. The appointment of the Government Commissioner for AI rests on the association's note only. The Government's resolution and its number are not stored and were not found. Removed because they rest on no stored file: the description of the material as non-legislative, its staffing and funding measures, and the transfer of oversight from the Deputy Prime Minister to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
