Private members' bill on deceptive recordings, which its explanatory memorandum links to AI and digital tools that can create or alter images, sound and video so that they appear authentic. It would extend the Civil Code's consent-based protection of a person's likeness and personal expressions to recordings created or substantially altered by a technical process; make it a misdemeanour to make or share such a recording of another without consent where it can harm their honour, dignity or privacy; add such recordings that seriously threaten a person's standing or rights to the crime of dangerous electronic harassment; and extend criminal liability of legal persons to that crime.
