Summary
Poland's law implementing the EU AI Act. It creates the Commission for the Development and Security of Artificial Intelligence (KRiBSI) as market surveillance authority and single point of contact: a chair, two deputies and four members nominated by the competition, financial, broadcasting and electronic communications regulators, independent in their functions. The Commission inspects compliance, handles complaints, issues warnings and binding individual opinions, can order an AI system that poses a direct risk to life, health, safety or fundamental rights to be withdrawn from the market or from use, imposes the AI Act's fines and runs a regulatory sandbox, free for SMEs.

The minister responsible for digital affairs (informatisation) is the notifying authority. Recheck of 17 Oct 2026: re-read the Act as published in the Journal of Laws (Dz.U. 2026 poz. 1003, PDF from eli.gov.pl, stored 11 Oct 2026) and the act's ELI page (stored as the secondary source; the archiver flags it as an application shell, but its stored text holds the act's metadata: status, dates of issue, publication and entry into force, the remarks on staged entry into force and the issuing authority). The published text confirms the title, the date of the Act, publication on 27 July 2026, the President's signature, the entry-into-force rules, the Commission's composition and powers, the sandbox, the notifying authority and the fine provisions. Removed because they rest on no stored file: the Sejm vote of 11 June 2026, the Ministry of Digital Affairs' report of 27 July 2026 on the President's signature, the ministry's expected timeline for the chair and the Commission's start, and the Commission's list of single points of contact. Version 1's statement that Parliament removed the Commission's power to issue bans and orders such as market withdrawal is contradicted by Article 63(2) of the published Act and was removed. No English translation of the Act was found.
