Status notes
Presented in the Chamber of Deputies shortly before 1 May 2025 by five deputies; a press report of 1 May 2025 also names Deputies Carlos Núñez Salinas and Johanna Ortega among its sponsors. The Chamber's bulletin item of 2 May 2025 gives the title as 'Que promueve el uso de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) en favor del desarrollo económico, social, científico y cultural del país'; later references give the shorter title. The Committee on Social Equity and Equal Rights of Men and Women, chaired by Deputy Abed, convened a public hearing on the bill for 4 Jun 2025. On 27 Oct 2025 the Committee on National Defence, Security, Intelligence and Internal Order continued studying it; it still awaited technical opinions from MITIC, which would be the main regulator, and from the Ministry of the Interior. A separate Senate bill regulating AI systems, presented in May 2025, is PY-01.

Recheck of 18 Oct 2026. Stored and read: two weekly bulletins of the Chamber of Deputies (diputados.gov.py, copies of 17 Oct 2026): one with an item of 2 May 2025 (page 8) on the bill's presentation by five deputies, its title, its 20 articles and their content, and one with an item of 27 Oct 2025 (page 13) on the Defence committee's study of the bill and the opinions it awaited; La Nación's report of 1 May 2025 (copy of 17 Oct 2026) on the presentation, the aims of the explanatory statement and seven sponsors; and La Nación's report of 1 Jun 2025 announcing the Social Equity committee's public hearing for 4 Jun 2025. The bill text was not read: its SILpy file (expediente D-2584139, file 142181, as the Morrison & Foerster AI tracker lists it) cannot be stored because the site's robots.txt disallows automated downloads, so official_identifier and official_url stay null, and the summary rests on the Chamber's bulletin. The bulletins and the press differ on the title's wording and on the number of sponsors; the record follows the Chamber's latest wording and its list of sponsors. No stored file shows whether the June hearing took place or any stage after 27 Oct 2025.
