Recheck of 18 Oct 2026: re-read the Maine Legislature's status page for LD 1727 (stored 11 Oct 2026, unchanged on 17 Oct 2026), the chaptered law PDF of chapter 294 (stored as the secondary source, from legislature.maine.gov) and the two fiscal notes. The status page confirms the title, enactment and the Governor's signature on 12 Jun 2025, chapter 294 and committee amendment C-A (H-544); the chapter PDF confirms the text and the approval on 12 Jun 2025. The Legislative Digest of Bills and Summaries of Enacted Laws for the First Regular and First Special Sessions (Office of Policy and Legal Analysis, legislature.maine.gov/doc/11927, stored in this run, 690 pages) gives 25 Jun 2025 as the First Special Session's sine die adjournment and 24 Sep 2025 as the effective date of its non-emergency legislation, and its enacted law summary of LD 1727 (Public Law 2025, chapter 294) names no emergency effective date. The Governor's name was removed from issuing_body because no stored file names the Governor; the earlier note's tracker dates (16 or 23 Sep 2025) rest on no stored source and were dropped.
