Status notes

The text is dated New Delhi, 12 September 2026; South Africa's government news service reported on 13 September 2026 that the summit had concluded with the leaders adopting the declaration. Paragraph 81 also acknowledges India's AI Impact Summit (February 2026) and the World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance in Shanghai. Paragraph 95 welcomes work on AI and other new technologies in the financial sector, including the BRICS Fintech Working Group's assessment of their opportunities and risks. It should not be confused with the New Delhi Declaration of the February 2026 AI Impact Summit (INT-02). Paragraph 140 supports China's BRICS Chairship in 2027.
