Summary

Policy of Paraguay's Supreme Court of Justice guiding magistrates and judicial staff on the ethical, responsible and transparent use of AI systems, including in-house, acquired and licensed systems. Under a principle of human oversight it lists permitted supporting uses and forbids delegating decisions to AI, fully automating processes that affect fundamental rights, using AI to determine guilt or innocence, and setting penalties without human intervention. Parties must be told when AI is used, generative-AI text must be disclosed and prompts documented, and wholly opaque systems are banned. Further rules cover non-discrimination, data protection and security, and AI literacy training.

Recheck of 18 Oct 2026. Stored and read: the Judiciary's PDF (pj.gov.py, copy of 14 Oct 2026; 12 scanned pages read through the PDF's own text layer) with the Secretary General's note communicating Resolution No. 12.677 of 4 March 2026, the resolution (recitals and Articles 1-5) and the 10-page annex with the policy. The text layer is garbled in places (signature stamps and parts of Annex Arts. 3, 8, 14 and 20), but the title, date, Articles 1-5 and the annex's principles, permitted uses and prohibitions can be read; Annex Art. 8(e) is legible only as 'Establecer penas o medidas srn lnterv... ón humana', read as setting penalties without human intervention. date_in_force is the resolution date, since Article 3 authorises the policy's application and no later commencement date is given. No stored file shows an amendment or replacement of Version 1.
