Summary

The governance goal plans a national AI and emerging technologies policy, local ethical and safety standards implemented through conformity assessment, safety audits and technical regulations, a national AI risk and safety institute, regulatory sandboxes and, as AI matures, an AI and Other Emerging Technologies Act. Recheck of 18 Oct 2026. Stored: the ministry's news item of 25 March 2025 announcing the launch (ict.go.ke, 16 Oct 2026) and the OECD.AI-hosted PDF of the strategy (91 pages, 11 Oct 2026). The ministry page confirms the title, the ministry and the launch date of 27 March 2025, announced in advance; it does not link the strategy document, and the PDF the archiver took from its links is an unrelated notice of cybersecurity job opportunities. The OECD-hosted PDF confirms the title, the March 2025 date, the Cabinet Secretary's foreword and the content summarised. No copy of the strategy on a Kenyan government site is stored.
