Status notes

One of eight declarations the G7 leaders issued on 9 June 2018 at the 44th G7 summit in La Malbaie (Charlevoix), Quebec. It refers to the 2018 G7 Montreal Ministerial Statement on Artificial Intelligence and to the multi-stakeholder, human-centric vision of the 2017 G7 ICT and Industry Ministers' Torino Declaration. Its other commitments cover lifelong learning and reskilling, the participation of women and underrepresented groups, multistakeholder dialogue, support for unpaid caregivers, and an open and fair market environment including the free flow of information. Global Affairs Canada published it in English and in French (Vision commune de Charlevoix sur l'avenir de l'intelligence artificielle).

Stored and read in this run: Global Affairs Canada's page with the full English text and its PDF version (international.gc.ca, official), which confirm the title and the twelve commitments by 'the Leaders of the G7' but are undated; and the Government of Canada Publications catalogue record FR5-144/2018-27E-PDF (publications.gc.ca, official), which confirms the issue on 9 June 2018 as one of eight declarations of the Charlevoix summit (44th G7 summit, La Malbaie), Global Affairs Canada as publisher and the French edition's title; it is proposed as secondary_url so that the dated source stays in the record's local copy. The candidate's earlier publications.gc.ca PDF link leads to an archived-content notice with no text.
Second check: Independent check by Claude Code (claude-sonnet-5-5), 2026-10-17: 5 field(s) supported.
