Summary

Strategy launched by the UAE Government in October 2017 to achieve the objectives of UAE Centennial 2071, rely on AI for all services and data analysis by 2031, raise government performance, lead the world in government AI investment and create a new high-value market. It targets transport, health, space, renewable energy, water, technology, education, environment and traffic. Its five themes: an AI council and task forces; programmes across government; training of government leaders and staff; delivering all first-line public services through AI; and leadership through an AI advisory council, a government law on the safe use of AI and a first global document on controls for its safe use.

Status notes

Launched in October 2017 as the post-mobile government phase; it sets 2031 as the target year for relying on AI for all services and data analysis. The UAE Charter for the Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence (AE-02, 2024) states that it aims to achieve the strategic goals of this strategy.
